Purpose

The Poolside Caddy is a storage holder with a form-fitting, hollow plastic base and a hard rubber bottom. To use, open the drain plug on top and fill the hollow base with water or sand to give the caddy weight and stability. Next, nestle it against the pool’s ledge, allowing it to hang over the edge. The weighted bottom keeps it in place while the caddy conveniently stores your items safely inside.

Story Behind the Invention

Sarah Yanes & Ralph Yanes

Inventors Sarah and Ralph Yanes of Homestead, FL have created a caddy for keeping beverages, a phone, and other personal items safe and in one piece as you enjoy your day by the pool.

After installing an inground pool in their backyard, it was the place to be. Their family greatly enjoyed hanging out in the water and relaxing. Everyone had their cell phone on them and a drink nearby while chilling in the pool. However, when items are balanced on the edge of the pool, it is only a matter of time before they get knocked over, splashed, or fall into the water. Nobody needs a costly disaster like that. Sarah and Ralph just knew there had to be a better way. In turn, they were inspired to develop the Poolside Caddy!

The invention features a form-fitting, hollow plastic base and a hard rubber bottom. To use, open the drain plug on top and fill the hollow base with water or sand to give the caddy weight and stability. Next, nestle it against the ledge of the pool, allowing it to hang over the edge. The weighted bottom keeps it in place while the caddy conveniently stores your items safely inside.
